General Life Update

So it's been pretty crazy for a while here. Massive amount of tests, and I'm doing not-so-great in my classes simply because I keep getting overwhelmed. I've learned from this semester, though; I'll only be taking 2-3 classes in spring. Which will be nice, but means I may graduate a bit later than expected.

I recently lost my favorite pet rat, Darwin. She was really special to me, and I took it pretty hard. She contracted a respiratory infection that developed very quickly. The day I realized what was wrong with her, I took her to an emergency vet, and she wound up dying on the table. I'm hopeful that she was comfortable, though. She was given oxygen and was kept warm while she passed, so I hope it was not painful for her. I buried her near our peach tree, along with Mim whom I'd lost a few months prior. My other rat Aiko, an adoptee from a friend, has now contracted the same respiratory infection and is on a lot of meds and needs quite a bit of care. I hope she'll get better--a day or two after she started treatment she seemed to be doing great, but now it looks like she's relapsing. I'll just have to keep a close eye on her and hope for the best.
